So you’re the type that hangs out at Go Bar from dusk til dawn or used to hit up every dance club in town until you boogie oogie oogied your way to a hip displacement. No worries. Your dancing days aren’t over as long as you’ve got these guys to provide you with a great soundtrack. Here are the 2010 nominees for Best Local DJ! Don’t forget that voting closes May 28th!
Brian Gonzalez’s DJ name probably has a lot to do with the fact that he attended UGA’s pharmacy school. And if you want to move, this guy sure does have your prescription. With a background in trance, backbeat, and hard house, DJRX has a pretty nifty bag of tricks at his disposal.
Couldn’t really find much on GraveRobbers besides this Live Review from Flagpole and the above link. If you’ve got any more info, please, lemme know!
Update from Anon:
Hey Jordan! DJ Graverobbers is Winston Parker. He deejays a lot over at Go Bar, sometimes alongside Twin Powers. I think he also had a DJ duo with Kim Kirby called Sports for a minute and he’s been apart of the Daft Punk tribute too. And he’s in Abandon the Earth Mission. And HEY, he’s a former wuogger.. used to be an exec!
In the world of creative mashups, Immuzikation knows how to pair ’em right. We’re talking MGMT/Daft Punk/The Doors or Feist/Burial. Some djs may be fine with just a few crossfades but Immuzikation makes creative collision an art.
If you want the funk, the soul, and the R&B, you’ll want Mahogany. Going old school is way cool if you’re not into all the trance stuff.
No, not the Capote novel, the DJs. Described as Ghettotech/Afro-beat, OVOR has made an appearance or two on ol’ WUOG, spinning some great grooves and making anyone listening just say “Wow.”
