Alas, my dear Athenians, I am still parted from you but you should go out this weekend and have massive amounts of fun in my stead. Also of note, our buddy Randall Bramblett is having his cd release show at the Melting Point tonight! The Meantime is a collection of his bits and pieces from over the years, all showcased in glorious piano and very spare accompaniment. It’s just Randall in all his songwriting glory, so go check it out.
Another friend of the blog, Chris McKay, will be with his buddies in a Ziggy Stardust tribute band at New Earth on Friday. They all get REALLY into it, plenty of fun to watch.
Three of the four bands playing on Saturday at Farm 255 are nominated for Flagpole awards so that might be worth checking out if you’re still undecided on who to vote for.
