According to a press release from Terry College of Business, local good guy David Barbe has been named the interim director of the UGA Music Business Program. The program suffered the loss of head director Bruce Burch and his team (Keith & Heather) when they left in July to start up a new program at Kennesaw State University.
Barbe has built up a lot of good will in Athens, sitting on the board of Nuci’s Space,
His chops as a musician are also impressive. Barbe is known for his work with bands Sugar, Mercyland, Buzz Hungry, the Quick Hooks, and some stuff with Bar-B-Q Killers. He also co-owns Chase Park Transduction. Long story short, he knows his stuff.
